The genesis for this portfolio occurred in a most unlikely place. It was Columbus Day, 2007. I was enjoying the holiday with my oldest daughter. I took her to her kinder gym class at the local armory. As we walked into the main gym area. I was immediately taken back to my childhood. The overhead lights were off. Bright sunlight was flooding through the large windows. Pools of light shimmered off the highly polished floor. For a moment I was back in elementary school. Waiting for the gym teacher to turn the lights on so we could play basketball or dodge ball. Since I'm rarely without a camera. I started making pictures. As I showed the images to friends and family almost everyone responded the same way. They didn't see the "armory". They saw a memory. "It reminds me of ..." was the usual response. What do they remind you of? I hope you can find your own experiences in the images of this portfolio. ~Scott
