My Lucid Landscape series began on a very cold winter when I was tired of sketching and painting snow scenes. All are highly stylized showing an extreme range of emotions expressed with shapes, line and color. All the paintings are done in my studio from memories, travels and events in my life. "Camp Out" is a reminder of the bear stories my Dad would tell when we were camping in the mountains of Oregon. The Tropics series remind me of places I've been, Tahiti, Hawaii, Virgin Islands, San Juan, Key West and others. The Hills and Forests are expressions of my interest in landscapes, living in Texas and seeing afar.... . My Water pictures are part of the constant challenge trying to put on canvas the energy and motion of water. The ideas come from the oceans of the world but mostly the Oregon and Gulf coasts. Enjoy!
