These two series look at life in the Far North somewhat metaphorically and were designed to be hung together. On the one hand we've Hidden Support which illustrates the building of Alaska upon the bones of animals. This was the case in the Beringian Period, through more modern Native culture (and more Modern animals) back to prehistoric animal support in the form of fossil fuels. The Ice series are abstracts based on light shining through and refracting in Ice. The weather and timing of the coming of Ice plays a huge part in Northern cultures in general. It is an obvious pressure that stays its approach for no one. That supreme indifference in no way diminishes its beauty and may, in some way. enhance it. So...Hidden Support/Obvious Pressure
