When one comes in contact with the Dominican cultural experience, one quickly becomes aware of the presence of an uncommon energy, an animated spirit, that permeates all things Dominican.
Being an artist whose artistic eye seems always to be drawn to movement, this Dominican animated spirit catches my eye in the same way as would a dance or the posture of the body in celebration. The energy of the Dominican culture IS a dance step, a mischievous flirt, a wink, a light and subtle movement that makes me want to capture it in my art.
This Dominican Art Series is in essence a celebrative reflection of the folks of the Dominican Republic.
