Welkin refers to the sky or the vault of heaven. In this gallery, I wanted to express two things: how I personally viewed the sky and the issues concerning the depletion of the ozone layer. The sky, to me, is a universal fabric that floats above us and protects us. During the time I had taken these pictures various talks circulated about the holes created in the ozone layer. To express both the idea of the issues concerning the ozone layer and my thoughts on the sky as a fabric, I used emulsion transfer which allowed me to treat the print as a fabric and therefore treat the sky as a fabric.
