I've read that "art is a recreation of reality according to the artist's metaphysical" perceptions/judgements. For me, this discription is half 'what art is'. The rest of the equation is the viewer's metaphysical perceptions and judgements. Unity of the two completes the piece; finishing it, making it whole. With each viewer, a unique shared entity results. With each viewer that one piece is recreated.
