Oftentimes certain elements I find in scenes of decay, destruction and rubble lend themselves to what I’m after. They oftentimes provide a pallet of form, color and texture that feeds my eye and although it gets complicated, that subject matter provides material fodder that I can sort out in the viewfinder. The process is very selective not random. The images I capture are always reinforced by the visual vocabulary I carry in my mind like so much baggage.
