Crisp, clean air and approachable wildlife help make Antarctica a photographers dream. It's hard to take a bad picture. Leigh and I traveled from Colorado to Antarctica in late February and early March, 2009 to celebrate her 40th birthday. We flew through Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, at the tip of South America and boarded the 52-passenger M/V Professor Molchanov for a 1o-day voyage across the Drake Passage to the Weddell Sea, the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Georgia Islands.
