Christine Sachs, Falls Church, VA Member Since January 2010 Artist Statement Christine’s lifelong love of art began in early childhood when she won three community coloring contests and resolved to become an artist. "I love creating art by playing with color, shade and balance as I watch a work come together on the page." Her current artistic passion is creating collages using colored pencil, ink, paint, and a variety of papers and found objects.
Christine’s training includes numerous classes at The Art League School in Alexandria, VA, where she studied drawing, figure drawing, colored pencil, mixed media collage, and abstract acrylic painting. In addition to her Art League courses, Christine has completed a variety of classes in photography, acrylic and oil painting, and drawing, including a figure drawing course in Oxford England.
Christine has been a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and has had her artwork featured in a CPSA Washington DC Chapter 109 show.
Christine’s career as a web site designer expanded her artistic repertoire to include elements of graphic design and digital photo editing. Favorite aspects of her job included creating logos and designing online newsletter layouts and attractive web pages.
