Description For Christmas 2008 I created a gingerbread church for my Christmas card photo. This is my own design and the recipe is from scratch. The stones were created with chocolate and glued on with royal icing. The shingles are almond slivers. The bell is marzipan and the windows were crushed and melted hard candies. So, this sculpture was completely edible -- except that I caught my cat licking the icing on the roof! I don't remember the exact dimensions, but it was about 12'x12'x8'.

My fine art explores various mediums through abstraction and realism. Cats, horses, monarch butterflies and old buildings being reclaimed by nature are common subjects. Currently, we share our house with 3 Maine Coon cats and about 40 tropical fish. During the summer we raise monarchs and other butterflies as a family project. You can follow our monarch journey through Facebook as well as find educational info on raising monarchs and milkweed.
