Description This is a painting of a Goliath van owned by Steve Jasik. He was displaying his non working van at the Ventura Harbor VW car show and it was getting a lot of interest from the crowd. It really looked in bad shape but that's the way he likes them.I've never heard of the Goliath Motor Car Company before. Apparently it was a German company that went out of business in 1961.Steve is the patron saint of old hopeless, rusted out, forgotten cars and vans which he slowly and lovingly restores back at his shop. This world is just a little more interesting with Steve in it. Great guy!
RG McMahon, Thousand Oaks Member Since December 2011 Artist Statement I've always loved drawing and painting unusual and vintage cars. Old cars, new cars, junked cars, any cars! In between commercial illustration projects and children's book assignments invariably I find myself photographing and painting cars from automotive museums, auto shows or just any interesting car parked by the curb.
