Artist Statement Who are you ?

Hi, I'm Dylan and I run Idea Productions.

What is your background ?

I was born in Brookside, Kansas City where I grew up in the neighborhood park, surrounded by friends. I attended film school in Florida and was on track to be a producer / director, when I got invasive Aspergillosis from living in a house with black mold. I bought a DSLR camera and travelled extensively throughout the country and the world, taking pictures and working on film sets, while searching for meaning to my life and answers to the mold illness. The pictures on this site represent my journey and path to recovery.

Where do you draw your inspiration ?

I draw inspiration from the overpowering beauty in our world.

What is your all-time favorite piece of art?

It's a tie. Christ the Redeemer from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil because it symbolizes the transcendence of the spiritual from the material, and The Great Wave because it signifies the dip / swell nature of our universe. I've had both on my walls for years.

Anything else you’d want the readers to know about you ?

I want the readers to know that I've forsaken everything our society holds valuable to follow my own path and that it's been extremely enjoyable and extremely difficult. I want people to know that I've been living out on the edge, and that the pictures on this website are part of what I found.
