Description Halley's Comet was in the constellation Sagittarius near the bright heart of the Milky Way on the night I photographed this scene. I used the sky shot to make this composite image depicting the comet over Crater Range, north of Ajo, Arizona.
Frank Zullo, Phoenix, AZ Member Since May 2011 Artist Statement I have been a professional photographer for about 40 years. Whether as a documentary film cameraman, a television news cameraman or a trudging-through-the-wilds, staying-up-all-night nature photographer, I always seem to be looking through a viewfinder exploring and trying to capture one of life's many interesting aspects.
I am a true lover of the desert with its hard-edged landscapes and wide open skies. Most recently I have been focusing my explorations on Native American rock art and archaeoastronomy.
