Description The hamadryad is a nymph so closely linked with the tree she inhabits that should it die, she dies also.Like other shy, wild creatures, they can sometimes be spotted in the woods, caught in the fleeting moment between awareness and flight.
Fi Bowman, Towcester, UK Member Since April 2010 Artist Statement I am a mixed media textile artist working with the themes of faery tale, folklore, myth and magic.
I create illustrative pictures that explore the stories we share – the folklore, myth, legend and literature of our English landscape and the half-remembered connections to the past we can experience through them. Stories of faery, goblins, woodland nymphs and green men are translated into stitched and painted pictures that attempt to capture the sense of wonder our ancestors felt at the mystical world that surrounded them.
I'm also a blogger, gobby bitch and slave to the Two Bad Dogs.
