DescriptionWhile I was visiting Busch gardens, we stopped for a trainer talk at the elephant pen. There was a large, solid metal gate covering this portion of the cage, with a roped area the trainer could stand in. The trainer clearly cared for the animals, and spoke of the care they received while dispensing treats like Gatorade and grapes to the prehensile trunk that reached under the gate. The elephant was incredibly gentle and graceful, despite being so large. The way it felt around for its treats and gently griped the trainers hand reminded me of a small child. It was markedly cleaner when eating, however.
Julianne Holzschuh, Port St Lucie Member Since February 2013 Artist Statement Photography has been one of my interests for as long as I can remember, I used to "borrow" the family camera during summer camping trips and record particularly scenic views while me and my brother hiked.
These days I have my own camera, and my adventures reach far greater distances then those summer camping trips of my childhood. I've also learned to use image editing programs to improve the look of my images, and better convey what I was feeling through the lens.
I do many other kinds of art, and photography is far from my only interest. If you are interested in other art from me, it can be found at
