Description 'Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me?' Acts 26:14 With these words from heaven Saul soon realized that despite his fervor and self-sacrifice for his religion he was in direct opposition to the God he believed he was serving. Saul had his religion all figured out and he had devoted his life to serve a God that he really didnt know. As a follower of Christ I also wonder sometimes if my religion is my way of serving myself, or if I am really living for my Lord? I hope that everything I do in my life is pleasing to Him, and not just my own self-defined attempt to be religious or godly in my own mind. This painting was inspired by the powerful devotions penned and published by Oswald Chambers in the early 1900s. His powerful book, My Utmost for His Highest, continues to touch my life and draw me closer to Jesus. I hope that this art and verse do the same for you!
