DescriptionPeople have asked how I captured this image. I reply that this enchanting creature captured me. She was nestled in the grass at the Forest's edge. Kneeling down, I asked, 'Do you think that blade of grass conceals you?' She did not even blink. I watched a long while, became as still as the Forest. Then she spoke in my mind: 'I am Fawn, being Still, minding my Mama.'
David Haenn, Mount Judea, Arkansas Member Since May 2007 Artist Statement
My home is in the heart of Arkansas' Buffalo National River country. For 35 years I have photographed the natural world around me and the natural wonders I have seen in my travels.
Locally, I restore vintage family photos and offer custom portrait services, but my true passion has always been Nature photography. Now, digital imaging offers exciting new ways to share my vision of Nature's beauty in print.
Comparing his work to music, Ansel Adams said that a photographic negative is like a musical score, and the print is the performance. In today's photography, the score is a digital file, whether from a scan of film or a digital camera. But the print is still the performance that the audience sees.
Imagekind, like a fine orchestra, offers brilliant performances of these image files. I hope you enjoy my compositions.
