DescriptionGreat gift for Music and Michael Fans everywhere!'He's out of my life'...I don't think there are words to express the gift that Michael Jackson gave the world as the superstar of pop music. Growing up, the Jackson Five had a huge impact on me and my brothers musically, then as a teenager in the 80's Michael's tape was always in my player! He will be missed by all. This is my tribute to him. This piece was very special because MJ was part of my youth and a big influence on my generation.Inspiration:Created for the Art House Co-op Project: The Canvas Project II; 10,000 canvases creating a visual dictionary. Rebecca Salcedo, Atlanta Member Since February 2008 Artist Statement I was raised in the Northwest but migrated to Atlanta about 10 years ago. I love knowing a place, but I like to explore and I enjoy moving!
My education is in Fine Art and French, but after college I covered the map following all the artistically related career paths, from fashion design to interiors spanning nearly 20 years, but I finally returned to painting and started my current business specializing in trompe l'oeil and children's murals, plasters and decorative finishes.
As for my personal art, I am primarily a mixed media artist, as I love to intertwine different textures and colors schemes into a piece which inspire the viewer to stay a while and keep coming back.
My genres vary to keep me amused, however I think you can recognize me in all of them. To attempt to define them, they mostly include mixed media, popart, cartoon art, lowbrow, trompe l'oeil and realism. I been an artist for nearly 25 years.
