Artist Statement My Lens...Your World

When I started high school in 1985 and began to show an interest in photography, my father gave me his 1965 Asahi Pentax Spotmatic 35mm camera. That was all it took.

I've been taking photographs ever since. Be it 35mm film, digital or most recently - medium format film - I am most comfortable behind the lens.

I am often asked what my style is - "So...what do you shoot?". I never know how to answer that. I shoot what speaks to me. It might be a person, or a building, or a rock - it is what it is. I call my style photojournalistic, or documentarian - I shoot what I see. I must admit however, that I have a definite fascination with cathedrals and cemeteries.

I have photographed a great many things over the past several years, all over the World - people, architecture, cathedrals, cemeteries, objects, etc. - a small sampling of which is shown here.
