DescriptionA painting from my art deco cubist series inspired by the tragic events of Hurricane Katrina. An African- American woman holds three babies in her arms draped by the American flag. Scenes from the devastation makeup the backgroun of the painting along with the words Union, Justice, Confidence. (These words along with the woman and the children were inspired by the Louisiana state flag that features the same words and a Mother Pelican and her young.)
