Denise Horn, Clay City, Indiana Member Since March 2009 Artist Statement As a child, Denise loved to write poetry and give it to her friends. This turned into her friends requesting prose of their feelings in rhyme as a teenager. Her later teen years took a different direction for revealing thought and feeling and she picked up more art classes and pencils. As a young adult she began studying more complex ideas and conveyed thought through charcoal and pastel chalk. Recently, she has picked photography to share with the world as she views everyone she meets as a "friend". "If there is one thing in my life that I would do differently, it would be to enter the profession of art at a much earlier age. I love to envoke feelings and thought through art. Symbolism combined with a touch of abstract and realism can reach out in ways unimaginable. Photography has become a new addiction and I hope to show more of it in the future."
