Description The first in this series and probably one of the most difficult. Trying to take an image, in watercolour, not much larger than A4 and transform it into an acrylic painting of 3' x 4' was quite a challenge and quite restrictive artistically. The original watercolour can be seen in my Angelicenergy gallery. I have made this a version of the original and not a copy which gives it an energy of it's own. I am pleased with the result and my client was very happy with it, so all in all a successful result. I hope you think so too.
Jenu Art, Mallorca, Spain Member Since May 2007 Artist Statement I live on the beautiful Island of Mallorca in the Mediterranean just off the east coast of Spain.
I trained as an Artist and Teacher several years ago. I also trained as a Healer and Past Life Healer which has very much influenced my artwork. Having learned how colour effects our daily lives my artwork is now predominantly colour based with a view to introducing colour and its power and energy to as many people as possible. . Mallorca is a wonderful place for the artistic mind, lots of sun and beautiful scenery, and I must admit that I am creating some of my best work now. I trained in fine arts and ceramic sculpture and up until recently was immersed in my ceramics although I had been painting small watercolours, consisting mainly of colour, shape and figures, fairly consistently, alongside the ceramics. My painting has evolved radically over the years as you can see in my galleries and is at the present time evolving much further.
Several months ago I received a request for very large versions of three of my paintings I had advertised on www.zazzle.com/JenuArt*. For these large paintings I am using acrylics, a media I had not used often and, which initially caused me a vast amount of exasperation especially on such a large scale. However, now I am really enjoying both the media and the large scale, I have such an amazing sense of freedom of expression when painting.
Since completing the first three paintings I have received eleven more commissions. Prints of these commissions are now available check out the Art of Colour gallery.
