Description This is part of my hand series. The original painting is just 14x11 inches so I would not order much larger than that. It is a high resolution file which is why it is available in larger sizes. I created this piece with the thought of what each finger represents and what 'domestic' animal I might pair with the meaning of each finger. The little finger is about communication and I choose the dog because it is the most interactive of our common critters. I could have chosen the parrot I suppose, I was originally thinking of 4 legged critters and the parrot sits well on the Thumb with represents getting results. Parrots use their beck's and feet to manipulate things quite effectively. The index finger represents power and the horse power came to my mind. The middle finger is about structure, accountability foundation and I thought we use cattle as a main stay in many ways. The ring finger is about individuality and well naturally the cat.

I love the times when I am balanced between waking and sleep. Painting is the place where I explore that territory, where I can express and share that inner world that we all experience.
The numerous sketchbooks I have filled over the years are my creative starting point. I start with a sketch, one which is sometimes done almost unconsciously. I then allow new dimensions of imagery and meaning to take form during the creation of the painting. My paintings are both physical and emotional: they not only have layers of paint, but layers of feeling. I build up texture and color, I remove paint and add more, and coax out surprising juxtapositions that inspire new ideas and magical meanings. I build a painting until it achieves a depth and richness that energizes me each time I look at it.
My painting draws on the rich traditions of Expressionism and Surrealism, and has elements of Cubism. These are artistic styles in which the artist uses distortion, exaggeration and fantasy to expresses subjective feelings, dreams and unconscious thoughts. It is our nature to be multidimensional, so I love to depict multiple views and viewpoints in my work. The joyful versatility and new possibilities of acrylic paints and mixed mediums are the perfect materials for these explorations.
My favorite papers for my art to be printed on from Imagekind are in order:
1-Ultra Smooth Fine Art (for a heavy paper)
2-Enhanced matte is the cheapest and though it is not a heavy paper its smooth matte finish prints colors brilliantly.
If you would like to print on Canvas I would only recommend the Piezo Pro Matte Canvas. The glossy is just too glossy in my opinion.
The canvas prints are all stapled on the back. Please be aware that the Gallery wrap will use part of the image to wrap around the edge so you will lose part of the image
