Artist Statement I am a happily married mother of 2. My son is 12 and my daughter is 2. We are having a wonderful time in life watching them grow up. Being a Mom is the best thing in my world aside from Photography.
I am really still very new to photography and still have so much to learn. I haven't ever found anything else that I love so much and have a deep passion for. I have spent many years spinning my wheels, looking for my place in the world, and I am happy to have finally found it in Photography. I am self taught to this point and plan to pursue a formal education in the field. My goal is to start attending art school around the same time my youngest enters kindergarten. In the meantime I spend time developing my skills to the best of my ability on my own and with the help of so many talented and inspiring artists that I have come to know on Flickr. There is no doubt at all that I have learned all that I know up to this point from them. I had always had an interest in photography and my Grandfather was professional photographer, it had always been right under the surface, but I discovered flickr one evening while I was browsing the internet and I was amazed at the level of talent I found there. I looked through several days of "Explore" and I said to myself that I wanted to be able to take pictures like these one day. I got out our little point and shoot the next day and start the learning process. Since then I have moved on to bigger and better cameras and lenses and even started playing a little bit with some old film cameras like brownies and polaroids. I've come a long way but still I know I'm only steps into a long and exciting journey. I finally did make it into that funny thing called Explore, a few times actually, It's still gives me a little thrill, but now I also know the hundreds or thousands even of beautiful and inspiring work done by quite and unassuming artists that may never be recognized and may never sell a photo or make 1 penny, and I may never either, but we are and always will be photographers.
