Seema Sayyidah Ahmad, Merrilville Indiana Member Since October 2008 Artist Statement ARTIST STATEMENT: This universe is one vast song of The Divine Creator God's [ Allaah’s ] Praise...
I am fascinated and inspired by its infinite beauty, and His Creation. I consider a work to be a success if it invokes and stimulates our emotion, incites our soul, and nourishes our intellect. Reminding us of 'His' Beauty and 'His' all encompassing Divine Presence. Beauty in a painting is static, symbolizing a moment in life lengthened to infinity. I work intuitively, and my goal is impression rather than precision. My desire for expression is satisfied when the ideas and emotions flow like the pigments mixed with water on paper gathering color, light, and form. I am an artist who uses both traditional media ranging from oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, mixed media and now computers to produce original fine art. However, watercolor is my first love and my favorite medium; I love its unpredictability, its subtlety, and the challenges it has to offer. In the end, I believe beautiful and lasting art of any genre must elevate us by engaging both the creator and viewer emotionally as well as visually.
