Joanne, a native Californian, has been expressing her love for the gifts of nature through her oil and watercolor paintings for over 30 years. Her natural talent for painting has been enhanced through the guidance and inspiration of many fine artists. Her most influential mentors have been Messrs. Kwok Wai Lao, Lee Domez, Kolan Peterson, David Musser, the late Messrs. Frank Germain and Ken Decker. These great artists have contributed to her versatility and interest in painting a variety of subjects in various media.
Her award-winning paintings in various styles and media keep the artwork interesting and fresh. The vibrant florals painted by Joanne may be realistic, impressionistic or abstract. Favorite subjects are barns showing the deterioration from age; seascapes reflecting the California coast, with beautiful birds and rock outcroppings; the ever changing colors of the High Sierra mountains and lakes; and the many varieties and colors of flowers. The tropical beauty of Hawaii is reflected in many of her paintings. Each painting is a unique creation from memories, photos, plain-air excursions or imagination. Her paintings are in collections throughout the country.
