Mahayana Wish, Korea Member Since January 2010 Artist Statement India is as ancient as it is fast changing. A country of many cultures that is changing dynamically and swiftly day to day, year by year. There are so many India's in India. It is truly a jewel of many facets.
With eyes that see the beauty in a way that is imursed in it's culture yet an eye that is new to it's charms, my hope is that these images challenge your ideas and thoughts about what you think you know, and also offer a fresh perspective and world that may have been hidden.
Spending most of the last nine years living in India and Asia where life, modern and traditional, is booming. It is here that I discovered a place where the choice of a spiritual path and a simple life exhist side-by-side, both still equally respected and valued. Yet growth here is rampant and that balance is a delicate one in light of a growing world economy.
There are pockets of life here that are still free to exist without pretense or prompting from a modern world. An innocence that cannot be bought, but may be lost if not appreciated and valued. A way of life and being that could be lost forever if not appreciated now.
Please accept this photographs as an offering of light into a possibly unseen world, but a world you may yet learn to love, more than imagined. Somewhat of a perpetual tourist and a student of Buddhist philosophy from the USA I view this land of countless pasts than remain present and care for it's people and nature with great love, appreciation and respect.
