Description Please adopt from Shelters and please spay and neuter! Thank You!Approximately 5 million to 7 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized (60 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats). Shelter intakes are about evenly divided between those animals relinquished by owners and those picked up by animal control. These are national estimates; the percentage of euthanasia may vary from state to state.http://www.aspca.org/about-us/faq/pet-statistics.aspxWhen Pets Become Food---------------------------An open secret of the pet food industry is that a large source of rendered protein comes from dead cats and dogs. The Feb. 19, 1990, San Francisco Chronicle published an article by John Eckhouse entitled, How Dogs and Cats Get Recycled into Pet Food. The finished products tallow and meat meals serve as raw materials for thousands of items that include cosmetics and pet foods.
Ginette Callaway, Lovejoy Member Since March 2007 Artist Statement My main body of work consists of my Original Paintings in Oil & Watercolor and some Acrylics. You will also find modern graphic designs and abstract art. Before picking up the brush and getting myself messy with paint, my ultimate passion, I worked in graphic designs. On occasion I still like to sit in my design studio using my graphics software to create, it's a whole different approach. I incorporate parts of my original paintings or alter them to get something totally different.
