Jessica Graeber Member Since August 2010 Artist Statement When it comes to photography I like to describe it as “captured”. Once time passes it is gone forever and can’t be lived again except through memories and consequences. A photograph captures a moment, taking that specific point in time and making it everlasting. It is the epitome of living in the moment. Although that captured image may be sent or displayed anywhere, placed out of its true element, but when it’s remembered will always go back to its origin. In that sense the capturing gives a breath of life, taking on a whole new form.
That’s the approach I like to take to my photography - to capture the uniqueness, the frailty, the fleetingness of one moment and not be given the chance to recreate it exactly the same way again.
