Description A liquid abstract, achieved by pouring liquid paint onto the canvas and then carefully moving and blending the paint around with a brush, fingers and sometimes sticks. In general I sign my original paintings on the side so as not to take away from the image. Signing on the side also allows you to hang the painting in any orientation you favor. Because of this, many of my giclee prints do not show a signature.
Jutta Annette Pitman, Paradise Member Since July 2011 Artist Statement I have been painting most of my life on an amateur level. In 2008 I ventured out more into the public eye and have been able to sell small and medium sized watercolors and acrylic paintings, mostly throughout the United States and Europe. The volume of sales I am able to generate ebbs and flows like the ocean, but I never let a low tide discourage me. I just keep on going and try different and exciting techniques. Thanks to one of my good friends I have also taken up photography and have learned to see the world in a new light. My main income currently still comes through nursing. When I shared my passion for painting with my colleagues I learned that many of us nurses are also painters, and it is one of my dreams to eventually be able to get a lot of us together and display the beauty we create after a stressful day/or night (as in my case) of work. A gallery of nurses.
I would love nothing better than to be able to generate art and have it be my main income. Until this happens I just have to take the opportunity to learn and get better at everything I do and not let rejection get in my way.
