Artist Statement A self-taught photographer, I've spent the past fifteen years wandering backroads and trying to capture the beauty and the "guts" of the American Southwest and the U.S. in general. I recently completed a ten-year personal photo project to document the "Ghosts of the Mother Road" through New Mexico--the remnants of Route 66 decaying, forgotten, and perhaps soon to be lost forever, and am currently working on a book of photographs from the project. I work in film and digital, but am a bit of a "purist" as I'm too lazy to learn Photoshop beyond the basics (I'd rather be out shooting than sitting in front of a computer).
