Artist Statement

Laurie Carzola earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida Atlantic University. She began painting dogs after being inspired by her own two Japanese Chins, Diego and Ruby, whom she affectionately calls DD and Ru Ru. Her work embodies the special bond she shares with dogs. Her paintings are fun and lively, placing dogs in a colorful story like setting. Her unique style and creative approach directly reflects her subconcious person. Her paintings allow insight to the emotions she feels in the company of dogs.“To me, dogs are top on my list of the greatest creations on earth. I believe my work celebrates life the way they do; lovingly, enthusiastically, and whole heartedly.”




"I am always changing. I think it has to do with working with kids everyday. They make me see things differently. My dogs are constantly amusing me and I snap pictures every moment I can catch."
