Description This is the Machu Picchu Pyramid that holds the Intihuatana stone at the top. The Intihuatana stone is one of many ritual stones in South America. These stones are arranged to point directly at the sun during the winter solstice. Intihuatana also is called The Hitching Point of the Sun because it was believed to hold the sun in its place along its annual path in the sky.
Andrea Brunson, Seattle Member Since October 2008 Artist Statement For many years I have dabbled in photography using my 35mm Minolta SLR camera. However, I have started taking digital photos and love my immediate results. Currently I purchased a Sony Digital SLR A200 camera. I was able to use it while I was in Peru this September 2008. I took some amazing photos of Machu Picchu and Peruvian locals. I posted them here on Imagekind and will also post on my website: www.andreabrunson.com
