Description Machu Picchu (Machu Pikchu) Old Peak is a pre-Columbian Inca site located 7,875 ft above sea level. It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru, which is 50 miles northwest of Cuzco. Machu Picchu is often referred to as The Lost City of the Incas. It is the most familiar symbol of the Inca Empire and also one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Pictured here is Waynapicchu, the Young Peak of Machu Picchu.
Andrea Brunson, Seattle Member Since October 2008 Artist Statement For many years I have dabbled in photography using my 35mm Minolta SLR camera. However, I have started taking digital photos and love my immediate results. Currently I purchased a Sony Digital SLR A200 camera. I was able to use it while I was in Peru this September 2008. I took some amazing photos of Machu Picchu and Peruvian locals. I posted them here on Imagekind and will also post on my website: www.andreabrunson.com
