Description This Madonna face appears in the bark area where a large part of a limb was removed on a giant sycamore tree in Leeper Park, South Bend, IN. Beautiful imagery and subtle, natural colors make this one of a kind.
Pamela Nacci, South Bend Member Since April 2009 Artist Statement Growing up in Michigan meant growing up near water...lots of it. Sunsets, sand, collecting driftwood and lovely stones along the shore...chasing frogs and investigating minnows swimming around one's toes was part of growing up in the summertime.
Rivers and woods and wildflowers galore were part of the environment I lived and played in.
Nature became an important part of my life and my identity. Living in nature also developed my sense of aesthetics. Honed by the beauty and symmetry (or balanced assymetry) of nature, my sense of design and color was gained from that which I saw and experienced.
My camera is an extension of all of my senses. It has taught me a new way of seeing, a deeper and more elegant form of sight than I ever knew was possible. With the new digital technology, I can practice my design aesthetics by capturing the light, color and design in the world around me and fine tune it to produce just the image I want. I do this intuitively...color, composition, lighting until the finished product just FEELS right. It is my greatest joy to be able to live a life of creativity through my camera's capture of these elements. It is my hope that you will enjoy viewing and perhaps purchasing one of these images for your own artistic enjoyment!
