Description This piece was done primarily in Photoshop and Corel Painter. I began this piece by painting the basic shapes and colours of the Caribou, keeping in mind my light direction. The next step was to paint more detail into the fur, especially around the focal point of the face. Once the details were completed, the final step was to add the cloud layer and paint in the mountain range to ground the Caribou into the space.
Norman Rawn, Toronto Member Since May 2011 Artist Statement I am a young artist living in Rural Ontario, Canada. I have never found anything else in life I love more than creating. I love that as an artist, I can turn those random ideas in my head into drawings and paintings.
I am now primarily working in Digital. Once I earned about the Wacom tablet and what it could do for me I was hooked. I love that I can explore a painting and never once worry about ruining a canvas.
I do enjoy drawing and painting traditionally as well. In fact I sometimes work out the early stages of a painting in digital and complete it in some form of traditional media (Ink, Pastels, Charcoal, Oil, Whatever).
