Artist Statement I live and paint Canada's Yukon; I live and breath Yukon. It is the most magnificent place in all the world. I got into painting the Yukon because I wanted to preserve how I feel about it and share those feelings with others.

These images come from inside. I walk around outside in summer and inhale the fresh scent of spruce and pine and wild flowers. I drink in the delicious views. I store them and in the long, long cold days of winter they come out in summer paintings rendered in acrylic paints. They warm me up. I try to paint some winter scenes because winter is very lovely here as well. I paint them in the warm weather so that I don't freeze to death painting them.
