Kathleen Farmer, Denver Member Since February 2008 Artist Statement Kathleen Farmer is an accidental artist. Although she always loved dabbling in the arts, it was more of an occasional pastime when life was slow.
She opened a European style boutique called Scentier in 1998 and found a need to fill in a blank wall in the store. So she painted afew European scenes, hung them on the wall, and within weeks all of the paintings were sold - WITHOUT PRICE TAGS!
This became a calling she could not ignore. After 9 years her work is now in private and corporate collections around the world, including NBC Studios Las Vegas set and the Nordstrom family. She is also featured in a book "Treasures of Colorado".
"I refuse to find a comfortable niche. Being self-taught, I am always seeking more difficult challenges to improve my work. Why do I paint what I paint? I paint where I want to be, and then there I am."
Kathleen also offers private lessons and entertains commissions as time allows. She may be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
