Peter McNiff, Greystones, County Wicklow Member Since March 2008 Artist Statement Well, I've been around. Done a lot of things, photo journalism, television, stuff like that. Wrote a book about.my early years as a reporter in Dublin, when the Beatles were around. Travelled a lot - places like Beijing, Shanghai, Venezuela,Tucson, San Francisco, Lisbon, Paris, Bruxelles, Manilla in the Phillipines. And you know what? I love to get back to my little shack in Ireland and look at the pictures I take and make something of them. And then I fool around with digital ideas.
Now this joint has opened up. Imagekind. Great place, lots of other artists. And one of them, from New Zealand, who does Japanese art, got in touch with me on my first day and gave me a welcome. That's nice. Very kind and thoughtful. Baiko does beautiful work in Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging. As a matter of fact, I love Basho, grand master of the Haiku.I have to figure out how to make these contacts myself. Send badges to friends and things. In the meantime, I intend to struggle on and hope you take a little time to look around my patch. Come on in anytime, you are all welcome. I think I will be putting up a lot more stuff and we'll see what happens next. Oops, there goes the kettle flippping its lid. Time for tea and biscuits. No, forget the biscuits. Be well.
