I got my first serious camera when I was about 15, though I'd been around them all my life. My father was a journalist, so I was no stranger to the craft or those who practiced it. Among his collection was a well-used, war-weary Asahi Pentax Spotmatic, which he let me use as soon as he could be sure I wouldn't break it. In the years since, I've had the privilege of traveling the world and capturing thousands of photographs of landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, nature and people, on land and underwater.
