Lisa V Robinson is an emerging contemporary UK painter, currently based in Westgate Studios, Wakefield in West Yorkshire.

In 2008 she graduated from Manchester School of Art, gaining first class honours in Fine Art painting. Since graduating, Lisa has gone on to win the 2009 Joan Day painting bursary.



"The basis of my practice is to investigate the possibilities of painting as a medium, whilst attempting to find a special balance between abstraction and figuration. My enquiry into process painting stems from my overwhelming attraction to the sensation of oil paint; from the satisfaction in observing the progression of a line from start to finish, to the tactile sensation of applying generous amounts of paint. The marks produced by the brush, particularly its personal characteristics provide intrigue and an appealing element within the painting" Lisa V Robinson 2009
