i have always loved horses. ok...maybe obsessed is a better word. in addition to being involved with horses for the past forty seven years, i sketched and painted them in my spare time[i even doodled them every where]. my work has evolved into capturing the life and spirit of the beautiful creature we call horse. i work mostly in pastels and acrylics but have also used mixed media to get certain effects.
my buddy icon is a grooming brush i painted. there are about fifty of them across the country in tack boxes or on shelves. the miniatures i painted on these brushes were my most popular item.
although i can no longer ride due to arthritis coupled with thyroid triggered obesity [grr] i can still create my own stable of horses on paper or canvas.
i will be teaching at the lebanon valley council of the arts this summer starting june 24 on tuesdays. classes will be for children at 10am and for adults at 11:30am. subjects will be 'drawing and painting animals' and ' the art of loving the horse'. contact me at cabart@horseartist.com or the council at lvcarts@verizon.net
my art and crafts are also featured at the jonestown koa kampground in jonestown, pa. which is also close to hershey and lancaster attractions.
