My paintings are informed by my love of the people, faces and places where I live.
I’m inspired by portrait artists who capture lives in action. In my portrait work, my aim is to capture the rock star in everyone, whether you can carry a tune or not. I like to think that one frame or image of a life does little justice, so I strive to create portraits that depict motion, progression, or a life lived over time.
With every new urban landscape I create, each painting marks another block of New York or Philadelphia that I have conquered and can call my own.

It would be understatement to state that my portraits are influenced by video and photography. I generally paint from a PC monitor displaying photos I’ve taken. While taking those photos, I am already framing the compositions which provide the foundation of my paintings.
