After twenty-two years, I am still inspired by the beauty of New Mexico and the American Southwest. Billowy white clouds fill our beautiful blue sky. Bright sunshine bathes everything in a wonderful light and casts beautiful shadows on old adobe walls. This beauty is the inspiration for my paintings. I have always admired the work of Georgia O'Keeffe and her description of painting as "filling a space in a beautiful way".
Born in 1956 and raised in North Carolina, I moved to New Mexico in 1986. Only days after receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, I was in Albuquerque, excited to start a new life in a new place. I have been here ever since, raising my family, painting and enjoying the beauty of this state.
I painted in oils for years, but made the change to acrylics several years ago. I love the brilliant colors, the rapid drying time and the durability of acrylics. My subject matter includes florals, cacti, landscapes and other images depicting the beauty of this area. It is a blessing to live in an area with wonderful light and beautiful subject matter all around me.
