Welcome to my attic. The attic refers to my brain as I am not sure what all is stored up there or how it will be of use in my creative endeavors. Sometimes it takes awhile to blow the dust off of an idea that has been lanquishing in the clutter of my attic, handle it with care and polish it up to make it presentable. It is amazing how much I have managed to store over the years! At other times a stored item will demand my immediate attention in the middle of the night and I have to get out of bed and bring it down from the attic.
I have always been happiest when doing something creative. I was an art major and worked in oils and water colors. However, life took me away from the creative community and into the financial industry. This was a very demanding and stressful career that sucked up all my time and energy and I let my creative juices dry up. Now that I am retired and living in Florida I have the opportunity to devote my energies to my first love, art
I have to give much of the credit for my transition into photography to one of my best creations, my very patient son, who convinced me to try something new and has been my instructor, coach and companion on our many photo shoots. He is also on ImageKind. The very talented Christopher Holmes of OcularPerceptions. Be sure to check out his amazing work.
I love digital cameras and Photoshop as they afford me the opportunity to combine my art training with my photography (although I do miss the smell of oil paints and linseed oil!). My current camera is a Sony DSLR a350 with various lenses. I feel like a child with a new box of crayons when I sit down at my desk to work on a new image. I am enjoying this new life and I am looking forward with anticipation to whatever our fast changing world of technology may bring in the future.
Being a member of the ImageKind community of artists has opened up a world of opportuities. I enjoy the many contacts I have made with the many wondeful and talented people from all over the globe. What a fantastic time we are living in with the technology availabIe to make a site like ImageKind possible. It has given me access to the whole planet without ever leaving home!
