Art is a living breathing thing in which we find expression and the ability to see beyond. The Artist must not limit himself. If he does, that is where he stays. Art requires an all out mind set. It will not offer it's secrets or it's treasure without one being fully immersed and committed to it. The Creator gives the gift. But where we take it and how far is our task. There is much thought on art. To the very simple or very complex. When we fail to paint , we fail to see. I work mainly with the human figure. I prefer the human element in my work in all it's multi faceted aspects. Inspired by form,beauty,emotion and the noble virtues of the figure is how I approach my work. I think the figure is the gold standard by which one's mastery is measured. It takes a great amount of discipline and hard study to master the figure. So that a great piece of work is not born by accident. Yes, there is a struggle. A struggle to unite all the complex elements into one finite work.
