Sally Franklin

Sally Franklin was born in New York City. She studied at The Traphagen School of Fashion Design and Illustration in New York City and from there began her art career as an illustrator for a major department store. She has also studied at The Northern Westchester Center for the Arts.
She credits her years in fashion illustration for her detail in fabric rendering and the reason she enjoys using beautiful prints and textures as the backdrop for many of her still life paintings. Sally finds inspiration for her work in everyday life and the things that interest her. She feels that even ordinary objects can be beautiful if we stop and really look at them.
Sally currently resides in New York's Hudson River Valley with her husband, Ray.
