I can't remember a time when I didn't have the desire to draw or paint. As a self-taught artist, I started developing my craft at age 9 when I did my first oil painting of my 2- year old sister, Cathy. I especially love depicting children with animals. I also enjoy drawing Western themes.
Although I work from photos when painting a portrait, I feel that I am able to capture the spirit and personality of my subjects. My portraits are done primarily in pencil, my favorite medium, as I am able to develop more precise details and sharpness unattainable through other mediums.

I am a member of the American Society of Portrait artists (ASOPA). My achievements include numerous awards, five purchase awards and inclusion in The Illustrator Magazine.
