"Human beings need some form of creativity; it is a very wise society that supports and nurtures the arts as an important element in community development. It is through drama and satire that we are moved and through music we came to dance.
So not only do I believe each of us are born to be intellectual, talented, expressive and well...creative, but I think the oppression of those energies by war, poverty, repetitive work day after day with nothing to look forward too has created an ill society.
Some illnesses are the consequence of a life without creative release and lacking a sense of purpose and the process of creating is healing, in that it gives the mind new forms of expression and understanding. It is through theses expansions of self that society advances and civilization evolves.
It allows the stimulation of challenge, the high rush of intellectual discovery and the joy in watching it unfold on the page or canvas or out of stone...or with each clicked off series of experimental choices. It is exciting to be so absorbed and focused so lost in the feel of creating. It is our SPIRIT at work, interacting through the vessel of body directly with the outside environment.
An uncreative life yawns with boredom, an unexpressed one screams in frustration, an undervalued one either rages or shrivels with anger into apathy. But all of those things are eased by pouring yourself into something creative."
