Ginny Schmidt is a retired civil servant, now back home in Florida after thirty-plus years in a Virginia suburb of Washington, DC. Prior to retiring she worked for the government as a report editor also doing desktop publishing and graphic design.

I have always loved all kinds of art, she says, but never fixed on "my" medium, experimenting with watercolors, acrylics, pastels, whatever. I was a shutterbug as a child, with my first Brownie box camera, but money for film and processing was hard to come by. I gave up photography after being scolded by my mom when she picked up some pictures I had put in for development and found that I had "wasted" an entire roll of film on clouds and palm fronds.

But ever since getting my first digital camera, I have been addicted to shooting anything and everything and then digitally manipulating the images on my computer. Just doing it is so much fun, it is practically an obsession, an end in itself, but it is really nice to be able to share my work.

I hope that, through this venue, others who enjoy what I do can find it. I am so excited to have recently found this website, and cannot wait to check out all the other member contributions. I have found a number of pieces already that I would love to get, if only my house had more wall space.

Welcome to my galleries, and thank you for stopping by. Please come back often, as I am always adding something new. Many of these images, and others not available on IK, can also be seen on redbubble (see link above), where artwork can be ordered in notecards and laminated or mounted prints, as well as wall art. Other wearable designs there are offered as tee shirts.
